It has been hard to come to terms with my failures even harder when reminded of the expectations I should have as a Christian.
Victory, success and opportunity all seem to be attributed to God but very few aspects of fear, failure or doubt are ever heard in the Christian culture or Church. Not that I expect it all the time but a little would make me feel more normal. For me success has never come without multiple failures. I take comfort in the words Jesus expresses amidst his own sorrow and loss in Gethsemane “Abba Father” he said “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me.” Not once but three times he pleads for a way out of the torture and failure ahead. For me another dead failure may be an opportunity down the track but I do not want to know that at the time. I want to know someone who shares failure and loss like mine. I want to be listened to more than ever in my inadequacy.

Thought you might like this mike. I had a few ups and downs myself.
Failure doesn’t mean you’re a failure,
it does mean you haven’t succeeded yet.
Failure doesn’t mean you haven’t accomplished something,
it does mean you have learned something.
Failure doesn’t mean you’ve been a fool,
it does mean you have a lot of faith.
Failure doesn’t mean you’ve been disgraced,
it does mean you were willing to try.
Failure doesn’t mean you don't have it,
it does mean you have to do something in a different way.
Failure doesn’t mean you’re inferior,
it does mean you’re not perfect.
Failure doesn’t mean you’ve wasted your time,
it does mean you have a reason to start fresh.
Failure doesn’t mean you should give up,
it does mean you should try harder.
Failure doesn’t mean you’ll never make it,
it does mean it will take a little longer.
Failure doesn’t mean God has abandoned you,
it does mean he has a better way.

I loved the last line of your blog:
"I want to be listened to more than ever in my inadequacy."
Mate, thank you, that in all of my inadequacy, you have allowed me to be completely honest with you, & you have listened to me!!
